Does checking my own link in bio count as a click?

October 26, 2026

On many tools it does, which inflates your numbers right after you publish, when you are checking the most. On Briklyst your own clicks are recorded but flagged and left out of your stats, so the numbers you see, and show a brand, are your audience's.

Creators test their own pages constantly: after adding a link, after changing the order, before a brand deal goes live. If each of those taps counts, a new link can look popular on day one when every click was you.

That matters most when you share numbers with someone else. A brand looking at your click count wants to know what your audience did.

If your tool does not filter your own clicks, test in a private browser window you are not logged in to, and expect a small bump in the numbers each time.
